About Group

Medical Metrology Group conducts research aimed at improving the accuracy of medical diagnostics and enhancing the quality of life. This could be achieved through the establishments of metrology and precision measurement technologies for humans and human-derived materials, including physiological signals, human biophysical quantities, medical imaging, and in vitro diagnostics.
In addition, we are committed to boosting the competitiveness of the domestic medical device industry by developing and disseminating technologies for the safety and reliability of medical devices.

Recent R&D Highlights

  • Development of human pulse and respiration simulator, as well as support for domestic medical device industry
  • Standardization and commercialization of the performance evaluation of a pneumatic tonometer for an artificial eyeball phantom
  • Development of emulsified reference materials for medical imaging devices and their dissemination to MRI manufacturers as well as domestic research centers/hospitals
  • Development of detection technologies for beta-amyloid, which is Alzheimer's biomarker, at the femtomole (fM) level
