Division of Chemical and Material Metrology provides measurement standards and technologies for the amount of substances and for the properties of materials, ensuring the reliability of measurement results.
With world-class measurement capabilities, we realize the mole (unit: mol), the SI unit for the amount of substance, in practice (mise en pratique). We also develop measurement standards in areas closely related to people's daily lives, such as food and the environment, clinical fields, and industrial gases.
Furthermore, we are involved in developing synthetic and measurement technologies as well as measurement standards necessary for developing advanced materials and devices in future industries.
