About Group

Nanobio Measurement Group conducts research to develop advanced bio-imaging measurement technologies for cellular organelles, cell, tissues, and organs at multi-scale level. We establish metrology for the safety assessment of nanomaterials and nanomedicine.
We aim to contribute to improving the quality of life by enhancing the efficacy of advanced nano-bio materials and reliability of nanomaterial safety assessments.

Current R&D Projects

  • 1 Development of optical imaging technology/equipment and measurement technologies
  • 2 Development of mass spectrometry imaging technologies and measurement technologies
  • 3 Development of standard measurement technologies for nano-toxicity evaluation using 2D/3D cell culture system
  • 4 Surface functionalization of nanoparticles and development/dissemination of reference materials

  • Examination of disease mechanisms utilizing nonlinear optical imaging of 3D biological tissues
  • Development of imaging technologies for biomolecular chemical distributions related to brain diseases
  • Development of novel organoid culture systems for nanomaterial safety evaluation
  • Development of nanobiomaterials (SiND, TiND, PtND) for deep-tissue imaging
  • Development of quantitative analysis methods for single-particle fluorescence of fluorescent nanoparticles and development of CRMs for iron oxide/quantum dot
