KRISS will host the 37th CPEM in Incheon, Songdo in 2030. South Korea was selected as the host country during the 2024 CPEM held in Denver, USA, at 4:00 AM KST on July 12 (Friday). This will be the second time CPEM is held in South Korea*, following the event held in Daejeon in 2010. KRISS has achieved the distinction of being the first in Asia** to host CPEM more than once.
* The 2010 CPEM, held at the Daejeon Convention Center, with participation from 526 electromagnetic experts from 38 countries, with over 400 papers presented.
** 1988 in Tsukuba, Japan; 2010 in Daejeon, South Korea; 2030 in Incheon, South Korea
CPEM is an international academic conference where global experts in the field of electromagnetic measurements* gather to discuss advanced measurement technologies, applications, and the latest research trends. Since its inception in Boulder, Colorado, USA in 1958, it has been held biennially, primarily organized by measurement standards institutions worldwide. Recent topics also include cutting-edge measurement areas such as quantum technology.
* Direct current (DC), alternating current (AC), voltage, current, resistance, power, electromagnetic waves, etc.
The conference will feature seminars, paper presentations, workshops, and various programs for academic exchange and international networking. An exhibition will also be held, allowing industry professionals to engage with advanced precision measurement technologies and equipment.
As satellite communications, autonomous vehicles, and advanced medical devices continue to evolve, the importance of precise measurement technologies is increasing. KRISS, as a leading national measurement standards organization, has been researching electromagnetic measurement standards for approximately 30 years and possesses some of the world’s leading precision measurement technologies.
President Ho Seong Lee of KRISS mentioned, “Securing the 2030 CPEM confirms KRISS’s leading position in the field of electromagnetic measurements. We look forward to the CPEM 2030 showcasing South Korea’s capabilities in precise electromagnetic measurement to the world and fostering international cooperation and exchange.”
