KRISS Holds "Vision 2035" Proclamation Ceremony 

 - New Vision of "KRISS, Standards for Life" Celebrating 46th Anniversary -

On October 15(Fri.), President of KRISS(Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science), Hyun-Min Park held the 46th anniversary commemoration ceremony of the institution and declared a new vision for the future, “KRISS, Standards for Life”.

KRISS established a new vision, development direction, and strategy to predict the future of 2035 and prepare solutions to global issues such as infectious diseases and climate change through the application of science and technology.

To achieve Vision 2035, KRISS established the 3 development directions of “establishment of world leading measurement standards”, “development of measurement technologies for the future”, and “provision of measurement services for the public”. Also, KRISS prescribed the key development areas of “SI unit implementation”, “establishment of measurement standards for major national projects”, and “establishment of the foundations for carbon neutrality” to fulfill its responsibilities as the representative institution for national measurement standards.

The ceremony was held simultaneously online and offline, and Chairperson of NST(National Research Council of Science and Technology) Bok Chul Kim, Daejeon Vice Mayor for Science Myung Soo Kim, the former Presidents of KRISS, and many directors from other government-funded research institutions took part in the event.

KRISS President Hyun-Min Park said, “Vision 2035 of KRISS embodies the resolve of everyone at KRISS to create unwavering standards even in tumultuous times and crises” and continued to express his ambitions to “endlessly challenge ourselves to solve issues that humanity faces based on reliable measurement standards and become a research institution that devotes itself to the improvement of human quality of life.”
