President of SIRIM Visits KRISS

Prof. Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani, President of SIRIM(Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia) and his colleagues visited KRISS on September 19.

Dr. Seong Jai Cho, Vice President of KRISS, welcomed the delegation of SIRIM and they shared their current status of each institute. They also engaged in a discussion on future cooperation. Especially, because many researchers in NMIM(National Metrology Institute of Malaysia, which is under the umbrella of SIRIM) are participating in master’s and doctor’s degree in KRISS every year, Prof. Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani expressed his gratitude and further hope for continued cooperation and support in this regard.  

Having a luncheon meeting hosted by Dr. Cho, the delegation of SIRIM had the laboratory visit to diverse research centers such as Center for Electromagnetic Metrology, Center for Medical Metrology, Center for SME Partnership, Center for Thermometry and Fluid Flow Metrology, and Center for Analytical Chemistry. Also, in some research centers, KRISS research students from Malaysia introduced their fields of study and laboratories they are working in.

This visit is expected to serve as an opportunity to deepen the cooperative ties between KRISS and SIRIM.
