KRISS Attends the 12^th NIM-KRISS Summit held in China

KRISS attended the 12^th NIM(National Institute of Metrology, China)-KRISS SUMMIT held in Yanji, China on July 29. This summit brought together Dr. Sang-Ryoul Park, President of KRISS and Mr. Fang Xiang, Director General of NIM with leading their respective delegations.

During this summit, the two sides discussed a wide range of agenda items, including life science metrology, data metrology, and cooperation within the framework of BIPM, CIPM, CCs, and APMP, etc.

In particular, the two sides shared their understanding that it is important for NMIs to play a leading role under the new SI system in accordance with the changing needs and expectations toward the community of measurement standards. Also, since both sides are working on planning mid-to-long term strategy, they expressed their hope to expand the scope of cooperation to diverse area and to share it for greater effect.

The 12^th NIM-KRISS summit is seen to have served as an opportunity to review what they have done to boost cooperation between the two institutes and exchange more ideas on how to deepen it.
