About Group
About Group
Hydrogen Energy Group is developing technologies and standards for the reliability and compatibility of metallic/polymeric materials used in hydrogen refueling stations and hydrogen mobilities, aiming for supplying hydrogen energy to the public safely and bringing the leading position in the hydrogen economy.
Additionally, we are developing and disseminating measurement technologies and databases for the mechanical properties of materials for next-generation gas turbines.
Current R&D Projects
- 1 Evaluation of the mechanical properties and hydrogen embrittlement characteristics of metallic materials in high-pressure/liquid hydrogen environments
- 2 Development of measurement technologies for the mechanical, physical, and thermal properties of polymeric materials used in high-pressure hydrogen environments, as well as analysis of the hydrogen exposure effects on the material properties
- 3 Development of standards for measuring the compatibility of metallic/polymeric materials for high-pressure hydrogen infrastructures
- 4 Development of measurement technologies and databases for the mechanical properties of materials for next-generation gas turbines
Recent R&D Highlights
- Development of technology for measuring hydrogen embrittlement of metallic materials in high-pressure hydrogen environments
- Development of in-situ tensile testing of metallic materials in SEM
- Standardization of IRHD hardness to predict the strength of hydrogen-compatible polymeric materials
- Development of hydrogen uptake in polymer materials for compressed hydrogen gas application
- Evaluation of hydrogen permeation characteristics of polymers in compressed hydrogen applications
