About Group

The Quantum Magnetic Imaging Team develops ultra-high sensitivity quantum magnetic field sensors and imaging technology for magnetic field/magnetic resonance/hyperpolarization. The team explores quantum physical phenomena and novel potential applications with the sensor and imaging technology. Especially, by developing ultra-high sensitivity room temperature devices and pioneering the applications, the research team aims to focus on developing future measurement standards that can support the industries for the display, biotechnology, and medical technology.

Current R&D Projects

  • 1 Development of high-sensitivity room temperature quantum magnetic sensors (atomic magnetometer, diamond-nitrogen vacancy)
  • 2 Research on high-purity single-crystal diamond growth
  • 3 Development of ultra-high resolution absolute magnetic field imaging technology
  • 4 Development of wide-field magnetic field/current density/magnetic resonance microscopy
  • 5 Development of hyperpolarization imaging technology
  • 6 Development of ultra-low magnetic field NMR/MRI technology

Recent R&D Highlights

  • Development of a quantum diamond sensor measuring magnetic field and temperature simultaneously with high precision
  • Development of quantum diamond microscope for imaging currents flowing in electronic devices
  • In-vivo MRI of hyperpolarized silicon nanoparticles toward diagnosis of disease
